Holy Alliance

Dr. Greg Michaels and our chaplain, Fr. McTeigue enjoy a
moment at our inaugural Holy Alliance meeting on
December 2, 2014.

In 2014, we propose a new activity: to have 90 minute, weekday evening meetings between priests and physicians. We hope to have these 4 times a year.

We will have one or more different priests join us for each meeting.

Our goal is to meet two needs:

  1. Ask our priests to challenge us to uphold the teachings of the Catholic Faith in the practice of medicine.
  2. Ask our physicians to update our priests on medical information that will be relevant to their vocations and parishioners.

In these challenging times, priests and Catholic physicians can form partnerships to counter the false claims and seductive arguments of our secular culture. This Holy Alliance gives witness to the fact that the truths of science and the truths of the Faith are never in conflict as they both have one and the same Source.

We welcome all priests and physicians of the diocese to become a part of the Holy Alliance as we join forces in serving the Divine Physician.
